Newark, NJ – Vehicle Strikes Fire Engine on S 17th St & Avon Ave, Two Hurt

Newark, NJ (March 7, 2026) – A crash involving a private vehicle and a fire engine left two people injured on Saturday, March 7, at the intersection of South 17th Street and Avon Avenue in Newark.

Authorities reported that firefighters were responding to a nearby house fire when the accident occurred around 5:06 a.m. A private vehicle struck the fire engine as it moved through the intersection.
