Westfield, NJ – Two Injured in Collision on Central Ave

Westfield, NJ (May 21, 2024) – Two people were hurt after a driver suffered a medical episode in the Westfield area on Monday, May 20. The incident was reported at the 1500 block of Central Avenue early that morning, around 10:17 a.m. Two people were traveling in a Tesla when it left the roadway. 

The Tesla drove across a lawn, a walkway, and over the front steps of a nearby home. The adult male driver suffered a medical episode leading up to the incident. An adult female passenger suffered critical injuries in the crash, and both had to be extricated by attending emergency units. The injured parties were transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment of sustained injuries. No further updates on the conditions of the involved parties have been provided. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
