South Brunswick, NJ – Fatal Fiery Tractor-Trailer Crash On NJ-1

South Brunswick, NJ (April 13, 2024) – Three people were killed after a fiery crash involving a tractor-trailer in the South Brunswick area on Friday, April 12. The accident was reported on NJ-1 near Ridge Road that evening around 9:30 p.m. Local reports revealed that a commercial truck and a van collided at the scene.

Local reports revealed that the minivan caught fire in the impact. Three people traveling inside the vehicle suffered fatal injuries and were later pronounced dead. The flames were reportedly so severe that it would have been nearly impossible to rescue the trapped victims. The driver of the semi-truck was also hurt and provided aid at the scene by attending medical personnel. All northbound lanes were shut down for the majority of the day as a result of the crash. Local authorities advised nearby motorists to avoid the scene and to prepare for significant delays. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
