Roselle, NJ – Passenger Dies in Halloween Night Crash on NJ-27

Roselle, NJ (November 2, 2024) – A woman was killed after a crash on Halloween night in the Roselle area on Thursday, October, 31. The fatal accident took place on NJ-27 near St. George and Chandler avenues late that night around 11:40 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox hit a curb on the roadway before hitting a fence, continued into the parking lot, and traveled into a nearby Wawa parking lot. 

Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. The passenger of the Chevy sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. The deceased party was later identified as 19-year-old Jayla Pryor of Linden. The driver, 27-year-old Joshua Pryor, was reportedly the deceased’s brother. He was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. The roadway was closed in both directions while local authorities worked the scene. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
