Ridgefield Park, NJ – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-&-Run Vehicle on Route 46 near Ridgefield Ave
Ridgefield Park, NJ (April 9, 2023) – A pedestrian has died as a result of an automobile accident that took place late Saturday evening. Just before midnight on April 8, the police and firefighters were called to the scene of a crash that took place on Route 46, Winant Avenue.
According to officials, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the westbound side of Route 46. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian became trapped under the vehicle and was dragged several feet in the area of Ridgefield Avenue.
The vehicle involved in the accident, identified as a Tesla, fled the scene of the accident. The pedestrian, identified as an adult male, had to be extricated from beneath the vehicle.
The victim was provided care at the scene due to his injuries. However, he ended up passing away.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
