Lebanon, NJ (May 31, 2024) – Two people were hurt after a traffic accident in the area of Lebanon Township on Wednesday, May 29. The incident was reported on Interstate 78 WB early that morning, around 9 a.m. It was reported that a woman was driving a vehicle on the interstate when she collided with an unoccupied tractor-trailer on the right shoulder.

After the crash, the vehicle rotated and hit another car. The impact pushed the semi-truck forward, causing it to hit the driver that was standing in front. This victim was later identified as Robert De La Cruz Alejo of Elizabeth. The area was temporarily closed while emergency responders were present to provide the necessary aid. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
