Galloway Twp, NJ – Woman Dies in Hit-&-Run at NJ-30 & 7th Ave

Galloway Township, NJ (September 14, 2024) – A woman was killed after a hit-and-run accident in the area of Galloway Township on Thursday, September 12. The fatal collision was reported at the intersection of NJ-30 and 7th Avenue late that night around 8 p.m. Local reports revealed that the victim, 33-year-old Angeletta Sheppard of Barnegat, was traveling on foot when she was hit by an oncoming motor vehicle. 

The at-fault driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim. Emergency crews were later rushed to the scene to provide the necessary medical aid. Despite life-saving measures, Sheppard was pronounced dead at the scene. She was reportedly traveling along the westbound shoulder when she was struck. The driver fled the scene on foot, leaving behind a silver Kia Optima. No description of the driver has been released at this time. No additional information on the deadly crash is currently available. However, an ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
