Toms River, NJ – Head-On Crash on Lakewood Rd Claims Woman’s Life

Toms River, NJ (March 8, 2026) – On Saturday, March 7, a woman lost her life following a violent head-on crash on Lakewood Road in Toms River.

Authorities reported that the crash occurred around 11:05 p.m. when a vehicle traveling southbound on Lakewood Road struck a roadside guardrail. The impact caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

After hitting the guardrail, the vehicle crossed into the opposite lane of travel. It then collided head-on with an oncoming car driven by a woman. Both vehicles sustained significant damage in the crash.

Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after reports of the collision. Crews found the injured woman inside her vehicle and immediately provided medical care. Paramedics then transported her to Community Medical Center in Toms River for emergency treatment.

Officials said the driver remains in stable condition while receiving medical care. The results of the blood test are still pending.
