Sussex Borough, NJ – Child Hospitalized in Collision on NJ-23
Sussex Borough, NJ (April 30, 2025) – On Monday, April 29, a child was hospitalized after a car accident in Sussex Borough. The incident took place on NJ-23 near mile marker 40 that afternoon at around 3:30 p.m. Two vehicles reportedly collided at the scene.
It was later revealed that 43-year-old Bhaskar Patel of Budd Lake was driving northbound in a Toyota sport utility vehicle as they slowed due to traffic on the highway. The SUV was rear-ended by a Hyundai SUV driven by 29-year-old Diego Mendez-Dominguez of Sussex. Patel was hurt in the crash, and emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide medical aid. A 5-year-old girl traveling in the Hyundai sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital by ambulance.
