Woodbridge, NJ – Man Killed in Pileup Crash on NJ Tpke

Woodbridge, NJ (April 21, 2025) – A man was killed after a multi-vehicle collision in the Woodbridge area on Saturday, April 19. The deadly crash took place on the New Jersey Turnpike near mile marker 94.6 early that morning at around 3:50 a.m. Local reports revealed that a Chevrolet Malibu and a Mazda CX-5 were traveling southbound when the Mazda hit the rear of the Chevy.
The impact caused both vehicles to veer off the road to the right, where they hit a guardrail before re-entering the roadway. The vehicles became disabled in the travel lanes. After the initial impact, a Toyota Sienna rendered aid before a southbound Mercedes C300 collided with the parked Chevy and Toyota. The impact caused the Toyota to hit the disabled Mazda. The driver of the Mazda, later identified as Edouard Lougai of Loch Arbour, suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
