Weehawken, NJ – Injuries in Pedestrian Crash on Port Imperial Blvd
Weehawken, NJ (July 8, 2024) – There were serious injuries after a pedestrian accident in the Weehawken area on Friday, July 5. The accident was reported near Avenue at Port Imperial and Port Imperial Boulevard late that night, around 9:50 p.m. Local reports revealed that 25-year-old Luis Tubac-Socoy of Passaic was driving a Ford F-350 pickup truck when he collided with a Honda CRV.
Tubac-Socoy then hit two pedestrians before fleeing the scene on foot. The two pedestrians, a 78-year-old woman from North Bergen and a 70-year-old woman from Florida, along with an 80-year-old female passenger in the Honda, were injured. All three parties were transported by ambulance to Jersey City Medical Center for the treatment of serious injuries. Four other occupants in the Honda were also hurt. Tubac-Socoy was later located by officials and is currently facing charges related to the crash. No further information on the accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing accident investigation.
