South Brunswick, NJ (April 4, 2025) – There were serious injuries after a fiery car crash in the South Brunswick area on Thursday, April 3. The incident took place on Route 1 near Ridge Road early that morning at around 3:52 a.m. Two vehicles reportedly collided at the scene. 

One of the vehicles, a 2021 Jeep Wrangler, caught fire as a result of the crash. The driver was ejected from the car and was found lying on the roadway. A passerby and a responding officer stopped to provide aid to the driver, later identified as a 50-year-old Hamilton man. Afterward, the officer attended to the driver of the second vehicle, a 2015 Honda. The 40-year-old female driver was also injured. It was later revealed that both vehicles were headed northbound when they collided, forcing the Jeep off the road, where it hit a tree. The Honda came to a rest on the right lane of the highway. Both drivers were hospitalized by Monmouth Junction First Aid and South Brunswick EMS for treatment. No further information on the crash is currently available. However, an ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
