Roebling, NJ - Transit Operator Dies, Several Others Hurt in Crash

Roebling, NJ (April 15, 2025) – A train operator was killed and several others were injured after a collision in the Roebling area on Monday, April 14. The incident took place north of the Roebling Station early that morning at around 6:04 a.m. The train reportedly hit a tree. 

There were 42 passengers on board the train at the time of the impact. Local reports confirmed that 23 of the passengers sustained injuries, and the remaining 19 customers were accommodated by bus. Footage from the scene showed a large tree on the tracks and the front of the train smashed. The transit operator sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. The transit line was suspended in both directions while emergency crews were present. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
