Readington Twp, NJ – Motorcyclist Hurt in Crash on Rte 22
Readington Twp, NJ (May 3, 2025) – On Thursday, May 1, a motorcyclist was injured after a two-vehicle collision in Readington Township. The incident took place on Route 22 near the area of School Road and Berry Farm Road late that evening at around 7 p.m. It was reported that 23-year-old Roberto Chaves-Rivas of Bridgewater was crossing the highway on a motorcycle when he was hit by a passing motor vehicle.
Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. Chaves-Rivas was injured and transported by Atlantic Mobile Health helicopter to Morristown Medical Center in critical condition. The driver of the car, 62-year-old Jonathan Ponulak of Whitehouse Station, was not harmed in the collision. The area was temporarily closed while local authorities were present. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
