Middle Twp, NJ – Passenger Hurt in Deadly Head-on Crash on Rte 47
Middle Twp, NJ (June 24, 2025) – One person was killed and another hurt after a collision in Middle Township on Sunday, June 22. The deadly crash took place early that morning at around 9 a.m. on Route 47. Local reports revealed that a Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling northbound on the highway when it reportedly entered southbound traffic and collided head-on with a Buick Encore.
Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. The driver of the Hyundai, Robert Burch of Baltimore, was transported by ambulance to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center—City Division, where he was later pronounced dead. A passenger in the vehicle, a 70-year-old woman, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to the same hospital for treatment. The driver of the Buick was also hurt and taken to Cooper Medical Center. The area was closed for several hours while local authorities were present. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
