Gloucester City, NJ – Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash at US-130 & I-76
Gloucester City, NJ (April 2, 2025) – On Tuesday, April 1, a man was killed after being hit by a car on a highway in Gloucester City. The deadly crash took place on US-130 near Interstate 76 early that morning at around 2:20 a.m. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched after being notified of a serious pedestrian-vehicle accident.
It was later revealed that the victim was traveling on foot on the highway when he was hit by a Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by a 60-year-old Sewell man. Despite life-saving aid from attending medical personnel, the man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased victim was later identified as Douglas Cella. No one in the car was hurt in the impact. The area was temporarily closed while local authorities were present. No further information on the accident is currently available.
