West Milford, NJ (July 28, 2026) – Two firefighters were injured while battling a house fire on Oak Ridge Road in West Milford on Monday afternoon, July 27.

Just before noon, emergency personnel arrived at the house in response to reports of a structure fire. When firefighters started trying to contain the fire, the house was completely engulfed in flames.

Firefighters rescued two dogs from the residence, and both animals were reported unharmed.

One firefighter was transported to a local hospital for treatment of heat exhaustion, while another suffered minor burns to the ears and neck and was treated at the scene.

The fire also caused radiant heat damage to a neighboring home. No residents were reported injured, and mutual aid departments assisted with the response.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
