Elmwood Park, NJ (April 6, 2026) – A hit-and-run crash on Sunday, April 5, sent a vehicle down an embankment along Interstate 80 in Elmwood Park, leaving a father and his young son injured. Authorities responded to the westbound lanes near Mola Boulevard after reports of a serious accident around 3:00 p.m.

Officials said a vehicle struck a GMC Yukon Denali, pushing it into the rear of a Mazda3. The force of the impact sent the SUV through a guardrail and down a steep, wooded embankment before it struck a tree near a nearby roadway.
