Edison, NJ – Motorcyclist Dies in Collision on NJ-1
Edison, NJ (July 30, 2024) – On Sunday, July 28, a motorcyclist died after a car accident in the Edison area. The fatal crash took place on NJ-1 near Old Post Road late that night around 8:15 p.m. The victim was traveling with a group of motorcyclists headed north on the highway at the time of the impact.
Two motorcyclists turned onto NJ-1 from Old Post Road and crashed into the rear of a BMW SUV. Both riders were thrown from their bikes. One of the motorcyclists, 45-year-old Alexander Teshima Chong of Belleville, went under the SUV. He sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. The other rider was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is in progress.
