Edison, NJ – Injuries in Deadly Collision at Rte 1 & Grandview Avenue
Edison, NJ (February 5, 2025) – One person was killed and another injured after a car accident in the Edison area on Tuesday, February 4. The deadly crash took place on Route 1 near Grandview Avenue early that morning around 12:07 a.m. Local reports revealed that a Ford Explorer and Mitsubishi were involved in the impact.
Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties. The circumstances leading to the fatal accident have not yet been determined. It was later reported that 36-year-old Makiano Francois of Irvington was driving the Mitsubishi when he collided with the Ford driven by a 48-year-old Brooklyn man. Francois was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick in critical condition and later pronounced dead. The other driver was taken to the same hospital, where he was treated for sustained injuries and later released. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
