Bridgewater, NJ – Passenger Dies in Crash with Shuttle Bus on Rte 22

Bridgewater, NJ (June 3, 2025) – One person was killed after a car accident in the Bridgewater area on Monday, June 2. The deadly crash was reported that afternoon at around 2:30 p.m. on Route 22 WB near the Bridgewater Acura Dealership. It was later revealed that the driver of a 2009 Hyundai Sonata was traveling west on the highway in the center lane when they drifted onto the right shoulder, where they hit a disabled 2009 Chevrolet Shuttle Bus.
Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Despite life-saving aid from responding medical personnel, a front-seat passenger in the Hyundai, later identified as 89-year-old Jung Bang of Somerville, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 90-year-old Won Park, also of Somerville, was rushed to Morristown Medical Center by ambulance for treatment. No other injuries were reported in the incident. The area was temporarily closed as local authorities worked the scene. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
