Bridgewater, NJ – Local Man Dies in Crash on Chimney Rock Rd
Bridgewater, NJ (February 21, 2025) – On Wednesday, February 19, a local man was killed after being ejected from a vehicle in the Bridgewater area. The deadly crash took place on Chimney Rock Road between Washington Valley Road and Gillbridge Road early that morning at around 7:20 a.m. Local reports revealed that a vehicle with two passengers collided with a tree.
The impact caused the front seat passenger to be ejected. It was later revealed that 90-year-old Arna Cochran of Bound Brook was driving a 2015 Subaru Legacy when she backed the vehicle across the front yard of a private property and hit a tree. The passenger, 61-year-old Karl Cochran of Bridgewater, was ejected. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. Cochran was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital New Brunswick, where he was later pronounced dead. The area was temporarily closed as local authorities worked the scene. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is in progress.
