Bernards Twp, NJ (June 22, 2025) – On Saturday, June 21, a woman was killed after a two-vehicle crash in Bernards Township. The deadly accident took place on Route 287 near mile marker 28.4 late that night at around 10:19 p.m. Local reports revealed that a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Volkswagen passenger car were both traveling northbound leading up to the collision. 

The motorcycle reportedly hit the Volkswagen, and the impact caused both vehicles to leave the road. A passenger on the bike, 35-year-old Tonya Reetz of Neshkoro, WI, was ejected from the motorcycle. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Reetz suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. The operator of the Harley, a 36-year-old man from Tishomingo, MS, was also hurt in the impact. The driver of the Volkswagen was not hurt. The area was temporarily closed as local authorities were present. No further information on the collision is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
