1 Killed, 7 Hurt After Car Crashes Into Meg’s Grill in Lavallette, NJ

Lavallette, NJ (September 19, 2026) – One person died, and seven others were injured after a vehicle crashed into Meg’s Grill on Grand Central Avenue in Lavallette on Saturday, September 19. The collision happened at about 11:12 a.m.

The Lavallette Police Department reported that the driver of a Buick Encore was attempting to park in front of the restaurant when the vehicle apparently accelerated instead of braking. The Buick traveled through the outdoor dining area and into the building.

Emergency crews assisted those involved. Seven restaurant patrons were taken to the hospital with various injuries, while the driver sustained minor injuries. One woman later died from her injuries.
