Liability Rules for Centerline Violations in Upper Township, NJ
When a driver crosses the centerline into oncoming traffic, New Jersey law generally treats that as negligence per se, since doing so breaches a specific rule of the road meant to prevent exactly this outcome, and that violation alone can establish fault for a resulting head-on encounter.
Common injuries in these types of crashes include spinal trauma, internal bleeding, and traumatic brain injuries, all of which may require extended hospital stays and long-term rehabilitation.
In these cases, a New Jersey car accident lawyer can gather the official police report, request the at-fault driver’s insurance information, and work with medical providers to document the full extent of a claimant’s injuries before an insurer has a chance to minimize them.
