Bicyclist Hurt in Hit-and-Run on S Main St in Manville, NJ

Manville, NJ (July 2, 2026) – An SUV hit a 12-year-old girl on Tuesday night, June 30, while she rode her bicycle in a crosswalk on South Main Street in Manville.

Officials said the girl rode east across the road in a crosswalk with a flashing beacon. The SUV, driven by 59-year-old Pradyumna Chinnammagari of Green Brook, traveled north on South Main Street at about 8:35 p.m.

Lt. John Crater said the SUV hit the child’s rear tire before the driver left the scene. Police later found Chinnammagari in the Walmart parking lot.

The girl received care at the scene from the rescue squad and declined any further treatment. Chinnammagari received summonses for failure to report, leaving the scene, and failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian.
