Parsippany, NJ (May 29, 2026) – Two tractor-trailers, a Ford van, and a Nissan van collided Friday morning, May 29, on Route 80 eastbound near the Route 287 exit at milepost 42.3 in Parsippany. As a result of the crash, the Ford van overturned and scattered debris across all eastbound lanes.
The New Jersey State Police said both tractor-trailer drivers and the Ford van driver suffered minor injuries and were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The Nissan van driver’s condition was not confirmed.
All eastbound lanes were closed after the wreck, with traffic backed up from the Lake Parsippany area near Littleton Road through Denville and toward Rockaway as of late morning. No names or ages were released at the time of publication.
The investigation into what caused the accident remains open.
We hope all those hurt make a smooth and full recovery.
Legal Rights After a Truck Accident in Parsippany, NJ
When tractor-trailers are involved in a multi-vehicle crash, liability is rarely straightforward. A single collision can involve the truck drivers, their employers, the companies that own the vehicles, and potentially the parties responsible for loading or maintaining the trailers.
In New Jersey, injured parties generally have two years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury claim. However, in complex multi-vehicle cases that involve commercial trucks, building that claim takes time, and acting early helps preserve critical evidence before it disappears.
Route 80 is one of New Jersey’s most heavily traveled interstate corridors, and the stretch passing through Parsippany near the Route 287 interchange is a known convergence point for both passenger and commercial traffic.
People hurt in crashes involving overturned vehicles and commercial trucks can face serious physical consequences. Spinal injuries, broken bones, and trauma from secondary impacts are common when a van overturns at highway speed, and symptoms may not be fully understood until days after the collision.
A New Jersey truck accident lawyer can help identify all responsible parties, obtain trucking company records and driver logs, and explain what compensation may be available for medical expenses, lost wages, and ongoing care.
