Atlantic City, NJ – Worker Killed, Two Rescued in Radio Tower Incident on Murray Ave
Atlantic City, NJ (December 5, 2025) – On Thursday, December 4, a tragic workplace incident at a radio tower in Atlantic City’s Venice Park neighborhood left one worker dead and required the rescue of two others.
According to the Atlantic City Public Safety Office, officials report that investigators believe an object fell from the tower, located on Murray Avenue, and struck one of the workers. The impact caused fatal injuries, and the worker was pronounced dead at the scene. The two additional workers on-site had to be rescued but declined medical treatment and did not require transport to a hospital.
Authorities confirmed that all individuals involved were employed by a private company performing work on the tower at the time of the incident. No further details regarding the identity of the victim have been released.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family, friends, and coworkers of the worker who lost his life. We also wish strength and support to all affected by this tragic incident.
Worksite Accidents and Fatalities in New Jersey
Workplace accidents, particularly
those involving elevated structures like communication towers, pose significant risks to workers across New Jersey. These incidents may involve falling objects, equipment failures, structural hazards, or inadequate safety protocols.
Some of the most common types of worksite accidents include:
- Falling Objects: Tools, equipment, or structural materials falling from heights can cause severe or fatal injuries to workers below. Even with protective gear, impacts from heavy objects can be catastrophic.
- Falls From Heights: Workers on ladders, scaffolding, or towers face elevated risks if safety harnesses, anchor points, or platforms fail. These incidents often result in serious injuries or death.
- Equipment Malfunctions: Defective or poorly maintained machinery, such as winches, lifts, or safety devices, can contribute to workplace accidents and add complexity to liability claims.
- Structural Failures: Faulty construction or deterioration in towers, platforms, or work areas can create dangerous conditions that lead to sudden collapses or falling debris.
- Insufficient Safety Measures: Lack of proper training, failure to follow industry safety standards, or inadequate supervision can significantly increase the risk of worksite accidents.
Victims and their families may face devastating consequences, including financial hardship, emotional trauma, and long-term uncertainty.
