Maple Shade, NJ – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by School Bus near Maple Shade High School

Maple Shade, NJ (January 30, 2025) – On Tuesday, January 28, a school bus driver was killed after being hit by a school bus in Maple Shade. The deadly crash took place near Maple Shade High School on Frederick Avenue that afternoon around 3:30 p.m. It was reported that 85-year-old Jack Hohwald of Maple Shade was standing outside of his bus when the accident occurred.
At this time, the circumstances leading to the incident have not been determined. The driver of another school bus hit the victim, and they reportedly remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officials. The area was temporarily closed while local authorities were present. The victims sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead.
