Subaru Rollover Injures 1 on Rte 17 S in Paramus, NJ

Paramus, NJ (October 9, 2026) – One person was hurt on Friday morning, October 9, when a Subaru sedan rolled over in a two-vehicle crash on Route 17 southbound near Midland Avenue.

The injured person has a non-life-threatening upper body injury. Paramus EMS took them to the main campus of Hackensack University Medical Center.

A hydraulic lift tow truck righted the Subaru and removed it. The other vehicle, a Toyota sedan, had damage that did not need a tow. Traffic on Route 17 southbound was cut to two lanes while crews worked.

The cause of the accident has not been released. Authorities continue to investigate.

Our thoughts are with the injured person, and we wish them a full recovery.

What Does Personal Injury Protection Cover After a Motor Vehicle Injury in Bergen County, NJ?

New Jersey is a no-fault state, so the first source of payment after a motor vehicle injury is usually your own auto policy, no matter who caused the harm. That coverage is called personal injury protection. A standard policy provides $15,000 in medical expense coverage, and drivers can choose higher limits up to $250,000.

PIP pays for more than medical bills. Income continuation benefits replace part of lost wages, up to $100 per week to a maximum of $5,200, while essential services benefits pay $12 per day up to $4,380 for tasks an injured person can no longer do at home.

In these cases, a New Jersey car accident lawyer can read the policy, confirm which choices were made, and make sure each benefit is claimed.

PIP does not cover pain and suffering, and its limits can run out quickly after a serious injury. A claim against the at-fault driver may be allowed in some cases, and New Jersey generally allows two years from the date of injury to file it.
