The accident was reported on Port Reading Avenue during rush hour. It was later reported that the transit bus was headed eastbound when it rear-ended an Acura, which in turn rear-ended a transit van.

The bus then fell over the embankment following the crash. There were 17 people on board the bus at time, including the driver. Seven were transported to a local hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. It was reported that an infant and a three-year-old were among the injured victims. It is believed that all victims will recover. The area was temporarily closed as emergency responders were present to provide aid to the involved parties.
