Washington Township, NJ – Drunk Driver Causes Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash on Egg Harbor Rd near Ganttown Rd

Washington Township, NJ (July 29, 2023) – The police confirmed that 56-year-old Frank Bersani of Laurel Springs, New Jersey, has died as a result of a crash that occurred in Washington Township on Thursday evening, July 27.

According to reports, at around 10:30 p.m., Julia Scanlon was driving a 2002 Ford Focus through the intersection of Egg Harbor Road and Ganttown Road when her vehicle collided with a 2020 Kia Sportage. The impact of the crash caused the Kia to strike a moving 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan.

The driver of the Kia, identified as Bersani, was severely harmed in the crash. He was rushed to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.

Scanlon was deemed to be intoxicated at the time of the crash. She was taken into police custody, where she faces multiple charges, including vehicular homicide.
