Toms River, NJ – Injuries Reported in Car Crash on Vermont Ave near NJ-70

Toms River, NJ (May 10, 2023) – At least one person was rushed to an area hospital for the treatment of injuries following a major motor vehicle accident that occurred on Tuesday evening in the Toms River area.

At around 10:50 p.m. on May 9, emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash on Vermont Avenue.

Reports indicate that vehicles collided on the roadway in the area near New Jersey State Route 70. The incident prompted the police to shut down a portion of the roadway as they worked to remove the damaged vehicles.

One person was located at the scene with significant injuries. The victim was in traumatic arrest and rendered CPR at the scene.

The condition of the victim is not known at this time.

The Toms River Police Department is currently investigating the crash.
