Toms River, NJ – Bicyclist Killed, Hit by Two Cars on Hooper Ave
Toms River, NJ (November 27, 2024) – On Tuesday, November 26, a man was hurt while riding a bicycle in the Toms River area. The accident took place on Hopper Avenue late that night around 9:30 p.m. Local reports revealed that the man was biking near Caudina Avenue when he was hit by an oncoming motor vehicle.
Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. The cyclist, 56-year-old Victor Nolasco of Toms River, was hit by a Dodge Durango driven by 34-year-old Alexander Colbert-Fernandez, also of Toms River. Colbert-Fernandez was reportedly traveling north on the roadway at the time of the impact. Nolasco was thrown from the bike and landed on the road when he was hit again by a Chevrolet Cruze driven by 28-year-old Nicole Murphy of Manahawkin. Nolasco was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River in critical condition and later pronounced dead. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
