Salem, NJ – Serious Injuries in Deadly Stop Sign Crash on Rte 660

Salem, NJ (December 11, 2024) – On Monday, December 9, several were hurt and one killed after a two-vehicle crash in the Salem area. The fatal accident took place on Route 660 near Route 605 early that morning around 10:10 a.m. Local reports revealed that 65-year-old Theresa Covello of Mullica Hill was driving eastbound on Route 660 when she ran a stop sign and was hit by a southbound Honda Accord. 

The impact caused Covello’s car to overturn. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Covello suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was later pronounced dead. A passenger in the Honda suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash, and the driver and another passenger were also hurt. The area was closed for several hours while local law enforcement officials were present. No additional information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
