Car Accidents in New Jersey

Fatal accidents in New Jersey take the lives of hundreds of people annually. Unfortunately, we see countless people die due to fatal accidents caused by negligent parties. Leading factors in fatal car crashes that we see here in the Garden State include:

  • Speeding: When motorists travel at too high of a speed, they run the risk of losing control of their vehicles. We see many accidents take place as a result of drivers who are speeding on curved roads and in inclement weather conditions. Not only does speeding increase the chances of an accident happening, but crashes that involve speeding vehicles are more likely to result in severe and fatal injuries for those involved.
  • Failing to yield: While switching lanes or turning at intersections, it is crucial that drivers always yield the right-of-way to others. Unfortunately, we see many accidents take place as a result of drivers who are reckless and fail to do so.
  • Intoxication: When drivers are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, they are less likely to be able to operate their vehicles responsibly. Unfortunately, nearly 150 people die as a result of drunk driving accidents that take place in our state every year.
  • Distractions: When drivers engage in actions that take their attention off the road, they can cause serious accidents. Common examples of distractions that lead to devastating car crashes in our state include texting on the phone, eating food, talking to passengers, or even playing with the radio.
