Newark, NJ – Two Injured In Pedestrian Accident At Cozy Corner Bar

Newark, NJ (April 29, 2024) – Two people were hospitalized after the driver of a stolen vehicle crashed into a local bar in Newark on Saturday, April 27. The accident was reported at the Cozy Corner Bar at the intersection of S. 12th Street and S. Orange Avenue around midnight. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene after being notified of the crash.

A carjacking suspect crashed into the bar, pinning two pedestrians at the scene. The man and woman were rushed to University Hospital by ambulance for the treatment of sustained injuries. The woman was reportedly in critical condition. The vehicle involved in the crash had reportedly been stolen from a few blocks away. The driver fled the scene and is currently being pursued by local authorities. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
