New Jersey Pedestrian Accidents
Walking is a great way to get around with the added benefit of enjoying a beautiful day. Unfortunately, it is far from safe to share the road with another driver, especially if you lack the protection of an automobile. Pedestrian deaths are on the rise across the country, including right here in New Jersey. In 2021, 699 people died on New Jersey’s streets and roads. About 220 of those deaths were pedestrians, making up about 30 percent of all deaths. Statistics show that there are no signs of this slowing down. Despite a record high of pedestrian deaths that year, there was a notable 18 percent increase in New Jersey pedestrian fatalities the following year.
