Newark, NJ – Head-On Wreck with Injuries Reported on S 17th St near Central Ave

Newark, NJ (July 14, 2023) – On July 12, the police reported that a major motor vehicle accident took place in the Newark area that resulted in injuries.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., a sedan was traveling east on South 17th Street toward Central Avenue when it slammed head-on with a second vehicle.

Authorities arrived at the scene of the accident and located the damaged vehicles blocking the road in the area near the border between New York and East Orange.

The drivers and passengers in both vehicles had to be extricated by firefighters.

The drivers were transported to the University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, for emergency medical care.

At this time, the incident is being investigated.
