Manchester Twp, NJ – Two Hurt in Head-on Crash at Ocean Co 571 & S Hope Chapel Rd
Manchester Twp, NJ (December 6, 2024) – Two people were injured after a head-on collision in Manchester Township on Tuesday, December 3. The accident took place near the crossing of Ocean County 571 and Hope Chapel Road that night around 6:19 p.m. Local reports indicated that the two vehicles involved sustained significant front-end damage.
When emergency responders arrived, they found a blue 2004 BMW facing south in the intersection and a white 2022 Nissan Altima on the side of County Route 547. It was later revealed that a Manchester teen driving the BMW was headed north on County Route 547 when it crashed into the Nissan, driven by a 39-year-old man headed east on County Route 571. The Nissan was reportedly trying to turn left at the time of the impact. The crash caused the BMW to turn 180 degrees and hit a traffic pole before coming to a rest. The Altima was forced off the road and came to a stop on the west side of 547. The driver of the Nissan was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, and the teen driver was rushed to Community Medical Center for treatment. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
