Lyndhurst, NJ – Pedestrian Dies in Hit-&-Run at Ridge Rd & Milton Ave

Lyndhurst, NJ (October 12, 2024) – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run accident in the Lyndhurst area on Thursday, October 10. The fatal crash took place at the corner of Ridge Road and Milton Avenue late that night, around 9:50 p.m. Local officials were notified of the crash and quickly dispatched to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. 

The victim was traveling on foot when they were struck by an oncoming motor vehicle. The at-fault driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the injured party. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the impact. The deceased party was later identified as 57-year-old George Arnold. The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
