Car Accidents in New Jersey
Every year, tens of thousands of automobile accidents are reported in the state of New Jersey. In many instances, people suffered trauma to the head, internal organ injuries, and even severe compound fractures as a result of these accidents. Being severely hurt in a car accident can have an overwhelming impact on your life. The unfortunate truth is that there are tens of thousands of people in our state that are hospitalized every year with serious injuries due to negligent and reckless drivers. Some of the leading causes of car crashes include:
- Impairment: When a driver is under the influence of drugs or alcohol, it can cause them to lose control of their vehicles and crash into others. Impairment makes it more difficult for drivers to safely maintain control of their vehicle, remain in their lanes, and make responsible judgments.
- Distractions: When a driver is texting on their phone, eating, messing with the radio, or engaging in some other type of action that takes their attention off the road, they can crash into other vehicles nearby.
- Running red lights: When drivers fail to stop at red lights and intersections, they can proceed through and crash into other vehicles that have the green light. Red lights are designed to provide drivers with the ability to safely pass through an intersection. When drivers do not follow them, they can cause severe harm to others.
Regrettably, these and other acts of negligence cause harm to innocent drivers every day in our state. If you have suffered injuries in a car crash that was due to the negligence or reckless actions of another driver, you must reach out to a New Jersey car accident lawyer as soon as possible.
