Irvington, NJ – Teen Injured in Car Crash on Grove St
Irvington, NJ (July 11, 2023) – A teen was left injured as a result of a car crash that took place in the Irvington area on Saturday morning, July 8.
Just after 9:45 a.m., the police and firefighters were notified that a crash occurred on Grove Street.
Police reports show that a 13-year-old was struck by a vehicle in the 1100 block of the roadway during the morning hours. The teen was seriously injured as a result of the crash.
Emergency medical services rushed to the side of the crash in rendered aid to the victim. The teen was then transported to University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, where he was admitted in critical condition.
Authorities reported that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the accident. Authorities were able to locate the driver, who was identified as 54-year-old Odaniel Exima. Exima is currently facing charges of endangering an injured victim and leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in serious bodily injury.
The police department is currently investigating.
