Hamilton, NJ – Bicyclist Killed in Crash on Black Horse Pike

Hamilton, NJ (May 19, 2024) – On Friday, May 17, a cyclist was killed after a traffic accident in the Hamilton area. The deadly accident took place on Black Horse Pike near mile marker 45.5 late that night around 8:20 p.m. It was reported that the victim was heading westbound on a bicycle when he collided with a Jeep Cherokee driven by a 21-year-old man from Hamilton Township. 

Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties. The rider suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased victim was later identified as 61-year-old Arthur Herz of Mays Landing. The driver of the Jeep was transported by ambulance to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Pomona for the treatment of sustained injuries. The area was shut down for several hours while emergency crews were present. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
