Car Accidents in New Jersey

Tens of thousands of crashes take place in New Jersey every year. Many of these accidents take place due to negligence. It is far too common for people to suffer debilitating injuries as a result of drivers who engage in reckless actions while behind the wheel. One of the most common factors identified in traffic accidents in our state is when drivers run red lights. According to statistics provided by AAA, approximately 28% of accidents that take place at intersections are a result of drivers who run red lights.

There are a number of reasons why drivers might choose to run a red light. They may be in a hurry and think they can make it through the intersection before the light changes. In some cases, they simply may not be paying attention and accidentally go through the signal. Impairment also leads to drivers running red lights because they may not be able to make sound decisions in order to stop in time. Whatever the reason, running a red light is a dangerous choice that puts other drivers at risk.

If you’re ever in an accident caused by a driver who ran a red light, it’s important to know what to do next.
