Denville, NJ – 12-Year-Old Child Hurt in Car Crash on Route 80 near MM 38.2

Denville, NJ (July 31, 2023) – The New Jersey State Police confirmed that a young child was left with significant injuries following a crash that occurred in the Denville area on Sunday morning, July 30.

At around 1:15 a.m., emergency crews in Morris County responded to the scene of a crash that occurred on Route 80.

According to law enforcement, a Kia passenger car crashed into the rear of a Honda that was parked on the right shoulder of Route 80, along the westbound side. The impact forced the Honda forward, where it struck a guardrail near mile marker 38.2.

A 12-year-old that was inside the Honda was severely injured. The victim was rushed to a local hospital for emergency care.

At this time, the incident is being investigated by the New Jersey State Police.
