Brick, NJ – Woman Dies in DUI Crash on Rte 70
Brick, NJ (December 28, 2024) – On Thursday, December 26, a woman was killed in a wrong-way collision involving an alleged drunk driver in Brick Township. The deadly accident took place on Route 70 near a Lowe’s home improvement store early that morning around 5 a.m. It was later revealed that a Toyota Rav4 collided head-on with a Volkswagen Beetle.
It was later reported that the driver of the Toyota was traveling in the wrong direction leading up to the collision. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene to provide the necessary aid. Despite life-saving measures from paramedics, the woman driving the Beetle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased party has not yet been provided. The driver of the Rav4 was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The male driver was issued a summons for driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
