Pedestrian Accidents in New Jersey

Pedestrian accidents in the United States take the lives of thousands of people annually. Tens of thousands of others are left with injuries that require extensive medical treatment. In New Jersey, we see countless people suffer significant injuries as a result of these accidents.

Unfortunately, many pedestrian accidents are caused by negligent drivers. One of the leading causes is drivers who are distracted. When drivers fail to pay attention to the road, they are more likely to hit a pedestrian.

Another common cause of devastating pedestrian crashes in New Jersey is drunk driving. Drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs are more likely to cause an accident due to the fact that alcohol impairs their judgment and delays their reaction time. Traveling at too high of a speed is also a major factor in pedestrian accidents here in our state. When drivers are speeding, they have less time to react to pedestrians on the road.

Unfortunately, the majority of accidents that impact the lives of pedestrians are entirely preventable. Innocent people are left to deal with painful physical and emotional injuries as a result of crashes. If you’ve been harmed as a result of another person’s negligence, you may be able to take legal action.
