Absecon, NJ – Child Killed in Car Crash on Route 30
Absecon, NJ (July 25, 2023) – An automobile accident reported in the Absecon area on Sunday morning ended in injuries. At around 3:25 a.m. on July 23, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a crash that occurred on Route 30.
According to reports from local law enforcement, two vehicles collided on the westbound side of the roadway during the early morning hours. Further investigations show that 25-year-old Edward Johnston was driving a 2019 Nissan Sentra on the roadway when his vehicle collided with a 1995 Honda, which was parked on the right shoulder of the road.
An 8-year-old boy inside the Honda was severely hurt in the crash. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries.
Johnston was issued multiple summonses by law enforcement. Additional charges are currently pending. Investigations into the crash are currently underway.
