Sayreville, NJ – One Killed in Flatbed Semi Crash on NJ-9
Sayreville, NJ (November 16, 2024) – On Thursday, November 14, one person was killed after a multi-vehicle collision outside of Sayreville. The deadly accident took place on NJ-9 early that morning, around 5:45 a.m. Five vehicles were reportedly involved in the collision, including a flatbed trailer.
It was later revealed that the incident took place on the Edison Bridge over the Raritan River. A southbound construction trailer broke off the truck, hauling it, and the roadway was closed for several hours as emergency crews were present to provide aid to the involved parties. The area was later reopened that afternoon at around 1:30 p.m. At least one person involved was killed, but it’s currently unknown if anyone else was involved in the impact. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
